R&D Resources 

At EHL, we keep the doors open and lend our facilities for all sorts of R&D activities. Our collaboration ranges from testing the latest technologies and products on campus with students and staff, to hosting product pitch sessions to provide feedback on new ideas, all the way to founding long-term research institutes dedicated to relevant topics.

Research Projects for the Real-World

EHL faculty members are regularly awarded for their research projects and publications that apply academic methods to solve real-world challenges.

This is the motivation behind EHL's research activities: we do it to shape a better, brighter future for the hospitality industry and the people therein. Themes of current research projects include real estate and finance, HR and leadership, services innovation, consumer behavior, social media and marketing, and revenue management.

Innovation Services

Located on the Lausanne campus, EHL's Innovation Village is a dedicated resource for the development of new hospitality and F&B concepts. The facilities include a food lab, a business incubator housing nearly 20 startups, and other testing and research resources for industry partners.

Research Institutes

Our research institutes conduct in-depth studies and give you access to dedicated multi-disciplinary teams composed of faculty and staff.

Their aim is to deliver solutions in a collaborative manner and provide valuable knowledge and recommendations to develop successful, sustainable businesses and projects.

Resources & Expertise for Culinary Businesses

Metro Hospitality Lab

The METRO Hospitality Lab, sponsored by METRO AG, is the first dedicated research project within the IBC (Institute of Business Creativity). This lab is dedicated to the HoReCa industry (Hotels, Restaurants, Catering) and will focus on the relationship between digitalization of operational training and human interaction.

Access to Culinary Expertise

Through culinary research and development activities, student contests, and workshops, EHL Lecturers in Practical Arts support the development of new gastronomical concepts and sustainable, innovative practices in the culinary industry. Partners include Alain Ducasse, Frank Giovannini, Bruno Goussalt and Joël Robuchon.
